Hello out there!
I apologize that I have not had much time to devote to this website for the past year and a half. I logged into my e-mail today and was surprised to find some e-mails from people who visit this site.

As most of you die-hards know, Motion City Soundtrack announced yesterday on their website that they are 'done' for now...here is the message:
"Hello, friends.

It has been a quiet winter for us. We've had some time at home after a very busy 2015. With this time, we've been able to think about the past, present, and future of Motion City Soundtrack. All of this thinking has lead to several conversations, and these conversations have lead us to a very bittersweet realization:

We have no idea what the future holds, but for now we are done.

Needless to say, we're feeling all the feels - you may be as well. If so, or if you've ever been touched by our music, we ask you to come out and sing along with us one last time in 2016.

Please stay tuned for a very special final tour announcement on Monday. You can sign up to our email list HERE to be the first to hear the news. We really hope to see each and every one of you out there one more time.

Thanks for all the love over the years. It really means a lot to us - and it always will.

Josh, Justin, Jesse, Matt, and Tony"

As for this website - I see this site shifting more to a archive/historical site rather than a place to catch breaking MCS news. The internet is at a place where news is now reported instantly on social media so I think this site is better off as a place to reminisce and find information - because I know all of you are writing your next book report on MCS :)

Thanks everyone for the messages and for visiting my site. If I didn't get back to you on something please send me another e-mail.

Pre-orders are now available for Motion City Soundtrack's upcoming documentary release I Am the Movie: The Movie, which comes out on May 13th. Also available for a limited time is a reprint of the classic I Am the Movie design on a black tee shirt. The pre-order site states the DVD is limited to 500 copies and comes in a floppy disk packaging similar to the original CD packaging so you may want to act fast if you want to order a physical copy. Digital downloads are also available. For more information about I Am the Movie: The Movie see motioncitysoundtrack.com.

MCS will also be playing I Am the Movie in full at two acoustic shows at the McNally-Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN on May 13th and 14th. The show on May 13 is sold out but you can purchase tickets for the show on May 14th via etix.com.

You can view the trailer for I Am the Movie: The Movie on YouTube below.
