Motion City Soundtrack will be doing an in-store performance at Amoeba Records at 6:30pm on June 12th - the release date of Go. The performance will be streamed live on amoeba.com.

I think the only song we have not yet heard from Go is "The Coma Kid"... I'll create a list with links once that one surfaces.

PopMatters has posted the premiere of "The Worst is Yet to Come" along with a webisode about the song.

Journeys has posted a free download of the alternate version of "True Romance" which MCS recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks studio. There is also a behind the scenes making of video to watch.

"Boxelder" is now posted on FasterLouder.com.au with a video where the band talks about the song. It also says that the next song revealed on the site will be "Happy Anniversary".

I forgot to post about these last week, but MCS posted on Facebook that they will be doing a couple of in-store shows at Electric Fetus in Minneapolis on June 9th and Amoeba Records in Hollywood on June 12th. More details coming soon.

Motion City Soundtrack's new single Timelines it out today! Get it at amazon.com and iTunes. You can preview the song at Hit Fix and also watch a video about the meaning of the song.

According to their Facebook page, MCS also just finished shooting a music video for the first single from Go, "True Romance", so keep an eye out for that coming soon.

The schedule for Saturday's Bamboozle festival is posted and MCS will be playing 2 sets instead of playing the previously announced after party (according to Tony's posting from the Bamboozle's Twitter account). Their set times are 3:35-4:05pm and 9:30-10:10pm.

Sorry for the lateness of this post, but over the weekend MCS announced that the second single from Go, "Timelines" will be released digitally on May 22.

They have also announced they will be playing the Nano-Mugen Festival 2012 presented by the Asian Kung Fu Generation in Japan on July 15-16. The show on July 16th will be acoustic.

I have a laundry list of updates to make to the site but am really busy lately so please bear with me if you see anything that is missing or not updated... Thanks!

Motion City Soundtrack will be playing a "Making Moves" showcase on May 16th at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. The show is free for students and also features the bands A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Brick + Mortar, The Skies Revolt, Goldrush. For more information see MADko Concerts.

MCS had to pull out of the Bunbury Festival in July, below is a note from the band posted on their Facebook page:

"Unfortunately we are having to pull off of The Bunbury festival in Cincinnati, OH on July 14th. We were really excited to play this festival with such a great line up of bands that we love and respect. And Cincy fans, it's been awhile, so we will see you in the fall. Something has come up that will take us overseas. We will announce that soon."

Rolling Stone is streaming the new MCS single, "True Romance"! The song comes out tomorrow for purchase. The blurb also mentions that the new album Go comes out on June 12th.

Motion City Soundtrack will be playing the River's Edge Music Festival which takes place June 23-24 in St. Paul, MN. I haven't seen information about which day they are playing but will update the tourdates when I do. Tickets go on sale April 13th at RiversEdgeMusicFestival.com, LiveNation.com, and Ticketmaster.com.

Dave Matthews Band, Tool, and MCS on the same lineup? Never thought I'd see that :)

MCS has announced that their new album will be released in June by Epitaph Records and The Boombox Generation (their label). More information to come in the next few weeks about the album, the release date, and a tour.

They have also revealed that the 4 albums in 2 nights show is coming to London in April. Stay tuned for more information.


Side note: I have some extra MCS posters laying around, would these be of any interest to anyone? I would be glad to send them to fans who could cover the shipping costs. Leave a comment or e-mail if you're interested.

MCS is playing The Big Spill festival on March 13th at the Korova in San Antonio, TX. You can get tickets at jivetickets.com.

Motion City Soundtrack will be playing at the South by Southwest (SXSW) in March. On March 11 they will play the SXSW Power Up! Party with I Fight Dragons at SXSW’s ScreenBurn Arcade at the West Canopy at Palmer Events Center in Austin, Texas. For information on how to get tickets see sxsw.com. The concert is 21+.

MCS will also be playing on March 14th at the Clive Bar in Austin, TX as part of SXSW. For more information see sxsw.com.

From the posting on the SXSW website, it looks like the new MCS album will be titled Go. I haven't seen this posted anywhere else so it may be unconfirmed.

Lastly, according to the band's Twitter, we can expect some new tour dates to be announced today :) I'll post them here once they are released.
